Kayla Bogatek
Director, Choreographer, Founder of Skip Dance, Adjudicator
With almost 20 years of experience as a Studio Director and Principal, Kayla Bogatek has dedicated her career to fostering artistic growth and creating opportunities for dancers of all ages. As the Director and Principal of the studio, she has brought a unique vision to life, offering her students a wide array of experiences locally, interstate, and internationally.
Kayla is a registered Royal Academy of Dance Teacher (since 2005) and holds a Certificate IV in Dance Management. She is also qualified in the Acrobatic Arts syllabus and the Ready Set Dance Preschool program. Her teaching and choreography qualifications ensure that students receive world-class training in a nurturing, professional environment.
A passionate choreographer and live production specialist, Kayla’s talent has earned her significant recognition in the dance industry, including a nomination for Best Choreography at the Industry Dance Awards in Los Angeles in 2020. Her heart lies in creating meaningful dance experiences and opportunities for students, and she has also choreographed multiple award-winning Wakakirri pieces.
Kayla’s commitment to the performing arts extends beyond her studio. She has delivered dance programs to schools, is a registered adjudicator for the Kids Artistic Revue competition, and continues to inspire the next generation of dancers through her work with the SKIP Regional Youth Dance Company. This new initiative, born out of Kayla's love for regional arts, is designed to provide rural youth with a platform to explore their creativity and pursue their dance dreams.
A recent graduate with a Graduate Certificate in Creative Business, Kayla is driven to make a lasting impact in rural and regional communities by exposing young people to the arts and empowering them through dance.
Kayla’s dedication to the arts and her community has been recognised with several accolades, including two local Australia Day awards in 2021. She was also honoured with two business awards for her professional service and contributions to youth mental health.
